Mr Iain O'Hare

Starting Taekwon-Do at 6 years old Iain has committed his whole life to Martial Arts.


His dream was to achieve his Black Belt and compete all around the world representing Scotland in the National Team. After achieving his Black Belt in 2009, Iain was selected for Scotland and has represented his country every year since, travelling all over the world.


Promoted to 3rd Degree in 2018 Iain has continued to compete abroad but also has tried to assist in the development of new students who are just starting out in martial arts.

Since then he has achieved his 4th Degree and been promoted to an International Instructor.


Iain has also been successful in Kickboxing, winning many different titles throughout the different events held within the kickboxing circuit.

At present Iain holds WKA EUROPEAN TITLE, WKA BRITISH TITLE, WKA & WAKO Scottish Full Contact Titles and recently became Vice European Champion for the 2nd time for Taekwon-Do.

Iain is also our clubs fully qualified personal trainer, who has a real passion for seeing people progress and improving their health through exercise & healthy eating habits, he also thrives on seeing the happiness people gain from making real fitness improvements.

Miss Megan Brown

Starting at the young age of 6 years old Megan began her Martial Arts training with a goal of achieving her Black Belt in Taekwon-Do.

Megan began her Taekwon-Do career in a small family club in the East End of Glasgow. Beginning to progress through the grades, Megan achieved her Black Belt in 2013.

She was then successfully promoted to 3rd degree in 2021. Megan was keen to start competing in Taekwon-Do at a young age, which has paid off, as she is now an experienced competitor in both national and international competitions.

 

In 2014 she was selected to represent Scotland at the European Championships and has continued to do so since, competing at both World and European level.

 

Megan also found herself competing in Kickboxing, and has been successful here as well, winning WAKO Full Contact Scottish Title.

In 2016 Megan achieved her Sports Coaching Diploma and has achieved her Level 3 Personal Trainer certificate. Alongside Megan’s great attitude and motivation towards teaching, her vast experience ensures she’s a natural when it comes to coaching.

Miss Melissa Brown

Melissa started her Taekwon-Do training at the age of 9 and has now been training for 20 years.

 

 After receiving her Black Belt in 2010 Melissa was selected for the Scotland National Team, she then continued to compete around the world at competitions in UK, Sweden, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and New Zealand representing her country at the highest level possible.

 

Through Melissa’s Taekwon-Do career she has always been keen to help and encourage others, in the local club where she began her Taekwon-Do journey she became assistant instructor when she progressed through the grades.

 

She was working with various ages and grades, she was always very proud too see the students she helped teach to become better and better along the way.

 

Since a young age Melissa was confident in her abilities, which showed as she has a large competitive medal tally to show for it. Always pushing to achieve more she successfully passed her 2nd degree Black Belt grading in May 2016.

 

In 2015 Melissa became a mum giving her a natural instinct when it comes to kids, something she calls ‘a mothers intuition’.
